New Office of the Public Guardian Advice Available for Deputies and Attorneys Investing on behalf of Donor

New OPG Guidance for Investment on behalf of a Donor

The OPG guidance issued on 8th May 2019 which is aimed at lay attorneys and deputies.  The guidance very clearly lays out basic information relating to the duties and obligations of deputies/attorneys when looking to invest on behalf of a Donor under an LPA or Deputyship order:

One example of the advice given is to only invest in institutions whose accounts are covered by the FSCS scheme.

Please contact our team of specialist lawyers if you wish to discuss any aspect of Lasting Powers of Attorneys or Deputyship applications.

Coronavirus Update

Due to the current concerns in relation to the Coronavirus, we must take into consideration the health, safety and well-being of our staff, colleagues and clients. We have therefore put steps in place to protect everyone so far as we possibly can.

Accordingly, please note that our physical offices will be temporarily closed to visitors until further notice unless by arrangement in limited circumstances. Our telephone lines remain open, but with reduced capacity, but any voicemails will be picked up daily.
